A 3-mile walk through the rather large garden of the former Streatfeild family in Uckfield, which was so big that it has now become two rather fine nature reserves. Led by Graham Kean and Joanna Heading of Wealden District Council.

About the event
Graham will try to cover the history of this estate whilst Jo Heading provides a knowledgeable commentary on the natural history including some interesting tree specimens and the dramatic carved rocks of Lake Wood. Designed to provide picturesque and romantic walks in the 19th Century, perhaps this escapism is even more important in the 21st!
No booking required, just turn up a good 10 minutes before the start time and make yourself known to the walk leader.

Meeting point: Junction of Batchelor Way and Ellis Way (just off B2102 Bellfarm Road), Uckfield, Post Code TN22 2BT; Map Ref TQ463211. Street parking in Batchelor Way, Ellis Way and Princes Close. No charge. Uckfield bus and rail stations approximately ½ mile from start.
