About the event

Lying to the west of the High Weald national landscape, Buchan Country Park is 170 acres of woodland and heathland. Designated as both a LWS (Local Wildlife Site) and a SSSi (Site of Special Scientific Interest), it is a site of national importance for its dragonflies. This leisurely walk is led by Countryside Ranger, Peter, and will explore the history of the park, its landscape features and different habitats and how they are managed for wildlife. Walk distance: 3 miles Walk duration: 3 hours

Obstacles: the walk is undulating with some unmade woodland paths with some short and long inclines on surfaced paths.

Meet-up point: Meet by the Visitor Centre, RH11 9HQ, W3W///gained.bounty.dizzy.

Information: The car park is free. The local bus stop is at Bewbush a 10 minute walk away. Dogs are welcome. There is a WC on-site, including a disabled toilet. Please arrive 10 minutes before to ensure a prompt start.
