About the event
Found on Ashdown Forest, Old Lodge Nature Reserve is a 72 hectare conservation project managed by the Sussex Wildlife Trust. It provides a wide open landscape of heather and grassland, gorse and is dotted with birch, oak and small plantations of Scot's Pine.
These lowland heathlands are a rare habitat and we're lucky to have so much of it here in the High Weald. But for the birds, butterflies, reptiles and dragonfiles that live here, life on these hot, dry heaths isn't easy. Learn about the wonderful (and weird) wildlife on this family walk led by naturalist, author and wildlife guide, Michael Blencowe. BOOKING REQUIRED
