Going on a Bear Hunt in Burwash

This leisurely 3.4-mile circular walk passes the historic home of Rudyard Kipling and has some wonderful views across the High Weald AONB. Led by Simon Fathers from the High Weald AONB team.

About the event

Explore rural footpaths, quiet lanes, livestock grazed fields and woodland in the heart of the High Weald. Some road pavement. Can be uneven and muddy in parts but only one stile. Please note walk leader will have a dog.

Distance: 3.4 miles but can be shortened to 2.3 miles if the route is too muddy.

Duration: 3 hours

Difficulty: Leisurely

Obstacles: 1 stile, steady climb in one section.

Meeting point: Burwash public car park next to the Bear Inn TN19 7ET https://w3w.co/breezy.costly.steadily (60 free spaces). 

Other info: Well-behaved dogs welcome but must be on a short lead due to livestock en route. Accompanied children welcome. Bring a drink and snack. Public toilets at start/finish.
