On this 9-mile walk through the landscape surrounding historic Mayfield, we will discover a hidden relic forerunner of ‘wild swimming’, from a bygone era.

About the event

Countryside walking with many ups and downs, gives glorious views across the High Weald. We will pass through various kinds of woodlands, along ancient sunken tracks, open parkland, orchard, fields, & quiet country lanes. See beautiful country houses, hidden away small local industry, and community collaboration.

Distance: 9 miles

Duration: 5 hours

Difficulty: Moderate

Obstacles: Six stiles. Steep and narrow woodland paths, maybe wet & slippery - poles and sturdy boots advisable.
