The Human Landscape – how people through the ages have related to the wider landscape and left their indelible mark. There will be a bit of human history, a bit of natural history, a bit of folklore, some “tall tales” and a bit of chat about the Rangers’ role in protecting the Forest.

About the event

This walk is led by Duncan an Ashdown Forest Ranger. Booking is required via the website Registration. Please arrive a good 10 minutes before the start time.

Walk distance: 2 miles approx.

Walk duration: 2 hrs at a leisurely pace.

Meet-up point: Bushy Willows Car Park on Ashdown Forest, Map Ref TQ471302. Nearest Post Code TN22 3JD

Walk details: Starting from Bushy Willows Car Park, down into Old Lodge Valley and up to Camp Hill Clump, returning along the rides adjacent to the High Road and back to Bushy Willows. Over rough ground with some steep gradients. 

Information: No refreshment facilities or toilets. We will be inside the Commoners Grazing area so we may encounter livestock. No Dogs please. Children from age 14+, under 18s must be accompanied by an adult who holds parental responsibility.
