High Weald

Walking Festival

September 2020

Since making the tough decision to cancel this year’s Festival, we’ve been working on a plan to help you explore the beautiful High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty safely, responsibly and at your own pace.

So here it is!

We’ve worked with a host of organisations and partners to curate 50 fantastic self-guided walking routes from every corner of this beautiful landscape, including some real hidden gems. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a lockdown newbie, there’s something for everyone in this 'virtual' High Weald Walking Festival.

How will it work?

  1. Check out the list and interactive map showing the starting locations of all 50 walks NOW on our Walks page, so you can start planning. This will replace our usual Festival brochure.

  2. The walking guides will available to download in pdf format from the beginning of September. They will include clear directions and a map, and can be easily printed in A4 size on a home printer. They’ll only be available for one month and will come down on 1 October, so don’t miss out!

  3. Make sure you’re signed up to the Festival mailing list as this will be our main way of letting you know when new 'bonus' walks are released throughout the month.

  4. Let us know how you’re getting on; share your photos and updates when you’re out and about using #highwealdwalks.

The walking guides will also include advice on exploring the countryside safely, in line with the latest government COVID-19 guidelines. Check out our Staying Safe page for more information.

Happy Walking!
